If AI future shepards in a new era of abundance, how will Hunter Gatherers fit into the world? If AI is coming for your job, does learning to hunt and find food and resources make sense? This is a debate I've been having with some friends recently. The skills required to feed oneself are almost a lost art already. Instead of putting effort into feeding and sheltering ourselves directly, the vast majority of humanity trades our time for a common resource which we then exchange for the things we actually need to survive. But what happens when there is nobody willing to pay us for our current skills, and eventually any skills? In an ideal society of the future, all our basic needs will simply be provided for. Our time will be spent in pursuit of arts, wisdom, health, love, maybe inner peace. I'm no doom sayer. This ideal utopia…
